The Children’s Choir “Kap” and the Girls’ Choir are diligently preparing for the county event “Matetićevi dani”, which will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Croatian Reading Room on Trsat.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Dušan Prašelj and the 30th anniversary of the death of Josip Kaplan. On this occasion, Kap will perform Prašelj’s compositions “Briškula” and “Sunce”, as well as Kaplan’s “Moj kraj” and “Šuma.”
The Girls’ Choir will perform Prašelj’s composition “Zerman Đovanin” together with the Women’s Choir “Učka” Matulji, and will also perform Kaplan’s “Ne bih li joj srcu omiljela” independently.
In addition to the ensembles mentioned above, the event will also feature KUU “Jeka primorja,” the Rijeka Chamber Choir “Val,” MPZ “Castrum,” and the Vocal Group “Zvir.” All ensembles will jointly perform Matetić’s “Draga nam je zemlja,” Kaplan’s “Sunce na Kvarnere,” and Prašelj’s “Himna Orijentu.”
